Bishop Blast in now just another wonderful memory we can add to our lives! I think I am safe in saying everyone had a great time. The reunion was on Friday, July 30, 2010. People gathered at 6:30 pm and the temperature was about 95 degrees and was VERY warm to say the least. The Sylvia Miller and Lowery Bishop Family's were in charge of this years reunion and THANK YOU BOTH for such a GREAT JOB!
Dinner was delicious and thank you to my sweet hubby Dean for all of his hard work with the meal which consisted of: Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Baked Beans, Coleslaw and Chips. We didn't run out of food which is a very good thing as we ended up feeding 200 hungry people! After dinner we took some FAMILY PHOTOS of the 8 Family Heads that were there.We missed Jay and Helen's Families and hope they can make it with us in 2 more years at our next REUNION! They were missed, that's for sure!! After pictures we had a short presentation that Aunt Marie put together to honor the 11 young ladies and the 4 young men who were all born in the year 1995 to the BISHOP FAMILY CLAN. That was a lot all in one year!! Thank you Aunt Marie for all of your hard work and the gifts for this remarkable group of 15 year-olds. ALSO: JENNETT handed out the FABULOUS BOOK she put together on the family! I have not yet had a chance to look at it but CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on it and DEVOUR IT! WOW, talk about A LOT of HOURS!! Thank you so much Jennett for this TREASURE for MANY generations to come. Many thanks!
Next at 9:15 pm we all headed over to the Recreation Center for the "Blast"! Swimming in 3 different pools, Racquetball and Basketball. NEXT at MIDNIGHT we started ICE SKATING! We ran the whole gamete on temperatures from hot and sweaty to swimming and then with wet hair cold in the RINK! Hopefully nobody got PNEUMONIA!
There was a SNACK ROOM with GOODIES for all to enjoy from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am.. Thank you to ALL who HELPED with this SWEET ENDEAVOR!
We had a BIG CROWD stay until the end and HUNG in THERE until they threw us out at 2:00 am! IT WAS A BLAST!!! Thank you ALL for wearing your ASSIGNED SHIRT COLORS which made it possible to be able to group families together and know just WHO BELONGED TO WHO!
